About The Black Bull Hotel

The Black Bull main building dates back to the 1800's when it was more known as a dance hall, it eventually evolved into what is now known as the public house. The building still retains many of it's original features, including windows and doors.

Our rear bar, aptly named The Heifers Bar, has been in commission since around 1994, and is kept up to a high standard at all times. On a Sunday, The Carvery Experience takes place in this area, where it brings a homely and welcoming feel, along with our Carvery Chef, our very own Landlord.

The Heifer's Bar includes a Pool Table, enough seating to sit 30+ people comfortably, also includes it's own bar, which is in commission at times such as special events or private functions. It's own SONY sound system, which is piped up to play music into the beer garden. Traditional Fire, and 42" HD TV with Digital Television. There is also a dart board which is free to use!

The Beer Garden was refurbished in July 2009, and includes new tables and chairs along with picnic benches, a large parasol , and individual parasols. When you step into this unique garden, your are transported to a continental paradise, and you feel you are no longer in the middle of the town centre.

As well as being a Public House and a Restaurant, the Black Bull Hotel also has another well known quality, it's also a Hotel (as if the name didn't say it) At the beginning of August 2009, with funding from Enterprise Inns PLC, the refurbishment of the hotel accommodation was completed, which now incorporates new state of the art en-suite shower and bathrooms.

In September 2009, the Black Bull Hotel changed hands to the new owner, Christopher Phillip Davies, who had 14+ years experience in the Black Bull itself, so is more than competent to take on the reigns of the hotel. He is now turning the pub around, and it is becoming the flagship pub of the town.
